Where This Began

Every company has an origin story. This is ours.
Acoustic Healing was founded in memory of a woman named Becca.
Becca was our founder David Villareal's daughter-in-law. She was a mother, full of life. And when cancer changed everything for her and for the family around her, it set something in motion that no one could have predicted.
David recently described the moment he understood that connection more clearly than ever:
"Last night I watched the movie IF with my family — and for the first time, I saw the opening minutes. A young family full of life. Then a mother gets sick. And the rest of the story follows the people who are left to find their way forward. I couldn't look away. Because I have lived those opening minutes.
I cried during those first few minutes. That deep, familiar sorrow — the grief, the missing her — it all came flooding back. But as the movie went on, what I felt wasn't just loss. It was confirmation. Confirmation that I am exactly where I am meant to be at this point in my life."
That journey — from loss to calling — is the foundation of everything we do.
David spent nine years walking hospital corridors with a guitar before founding Acoustic Healing. Hundreds of patients, families, and healthcare workers whose lives intersected with music at the moment they needed it most. What he learned in those rooms is simple and unshakeable: cancer doesn't just happen to one person. It happens to everyone around them. The families. The friends. The nurses and doctors and chaplains who carry more than anyone sees.
Acoustic Healing exists to be present for all of it. Not to fix anything. To offer music — delivered with clinical intention — in the moments where nothing else can reach.
This is where it began. This is why we're here.
